1630-1692
- 1630 | Pope Urban VIII elevates the Birkirkara parish church to the status of a Collegiate church bearing the name of Saint Helen through the Apostolic Bull: Sacri Apostolatus Ministerio, with its Provost being the founder himself, Don Filippo Borg and twelve canonries. The new canons were vested in 1635.
- 1655 | Ħal Balzan is declared a new parish.
- 1692 | Birkirkara parish priest is elevated to Archpriest, and becomes part of the Collegiate Chapter, the reigning Pope being Benedict XIV.
